"You're a Real Person, Not a Politician"
I received a compliment from a voter today who told me "you're a real person, not just a politician." I was humbled by the comment but also heartened to know I am helping my residents in District 6. I am a real person who struggles to pay her taxes, understanding there isn't anything such as a small tax increase. I am a real person who has children who enjoyed skating on Riverview's ice rink both while attending Riverview school and on weekends. I am a real person who winces when trying to miss potholes and wonder why our streets are not smoother. I am a real person who walks my dogs daily while cars speed past us at dangerous speeds while your children walk and ride their bicycles.
I have heard your complaints and I have worked on each of them. We made progress on things such as increasing police presence including traffic and speed monitoring. We had a number of roads fixed with asphalt overlay and more being scheduled. We are continuing to work on a neighborhood ice rink including looking into public/private partnerships and foundations to get to our goal.
It has been my pleasure to represent District 6 these past two years and ask once again for your vote on April 3rd.
